Touch down spaces and working rooms have been created for researcher use on the Ward. While we encourage researchers to work in these spaces, it is important to remember that working stations are considered public space, and that others will have access to information that is left in the rooms or on the computers.
If leaving the space for an extended period of time, please remember to close all documents and log off of the user account. Patient /participant data should not be stored on these computers. Any work that is done on these computers should be saved on a separate USB key / memory stick and taken home.
Computer Access
Available computers provide access to the internet and other programs that may benefit researchers (e.g. Microsoft Office). Researchers will not have any administrative access to these computers, and will be unable to add or remove programs. If special programs are needed for the purpose of study, please contact Dannel Wah at: dannel.wah@calgaryhealthregion.ca.
New Researchers/Summer Students and Email Access
New researchers and summer students who are on the W21C for an extended period of time can have access to an Alberta Health Services webmail account, if necessary. This account will be set up through Shandra Kimpton. Please contact Shandra Kimpton to start this process.
Once a Alberta Health Services' webmail account has been set up, it is important that everyone complete an information systems user agreement form, which is attached below.
