SMART Technologies

What is a SMART Board?
The SMART Board interactive whiteboard, in 1991, was the world's first interactive whiteboard. Today, it is the world's leading interactive whiteboard. Combining the simplicity of a whiteboard with the power of a computer, the SMART Board interactive whiteboard uses a touch-sensitive display to allow you to control computer applications directly from the display, write notes in digital ink and save your work to share later.

Project Background
The W21C currently has two SMART Board systems located on Unit 36. One is a rear projected board located within the Nursing Education Room and the other is a desktop-based system located in the Large Education Room.  We are currently exploring new areas to place these boards and are asking for any feedback you may have on this topic. The new W21C Research and Innovation Centre is also equipped with two SMART Boards and we are developing a relationship with SMART Technologies to help inform the W21C's growing need for innovative tools to enhance our collaborative environment.

Questions?
If you would like to learn more about the SMART Board or would like to be trained to use the technology, please contact Susan Mide Kiss or Alecia Greenough, or visit SMART's website.
