Learning & Development

In an environment like the W21C with multiple stakeholder groups and organizations involved in the management of the inititiative, each partnering organization has a responsibility to support the professional development of its staff and and emerging leaders. With learning and development budget limitations, a commitment to coaching, mentorship, and self-directed learning may be the most effective methods to encourage learning and development within the W21C. There is a growing trend to make use of multiple learning and development methods. This intranet site includes a number of on-line learning resources and we encourage you to take a few minutes to explore the tools provided.

Recent study supports the use of on-line learning for W21C

A recent study exploring how to encourage collaboration among key W21C stakeholders highlighted a number of approaches to enhance learning and development among W21C staff and stakeholders. Both coaching and mentoring were suggested as practical approaches to support the learning of the W21C’s current and emerging leaders and to encourage the continued professional development of staff and stakeholders. On-line tools were strongly recommended to support the learning environment of the W21C.
