Barbara Burian, PhD
Senior Research Psychologist at NASA Ames Research Center
Dr. Burian is an internationally recognized expert on the design, development, and use of emergency and abnormal checklists and procedures. She is a private pilot, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and consults with the industry on a variety of aviation human factors issues.

 

 

Dr. Mary Brindle
Director of The EQuIS (Efficiency Quality Innovation and Safety) Research platform
EQuIS tackles health system issues as they relate to pediatric surgery and develops innovative solutions through the international and national collaboration. As part of this work, Dr. Brindle leads the international ERAS neonatal abdominal surgery team. Her team is also focused on identifying preventable adverse events and developing point of care tools for improving surgical safety for children and adults in collaboration with Ariadne Labs at the Harvard School for Public Health and the Canadian Patient Safety Institute.
