RESEARCH

W21C is proud of the exciting opportunities and transformative environment we have established to encourage innovative health research, and to make care better.

Health Systems Projects

W21C is home to researchers and industry partners engaged in developing new ideas and testing prototypes or products in pre-clinical and clinical environments. Based in the University of Calgary and the Calgary Zone of Alberta Health Services, our team strives to build new paradigms of health care delivery to improve patient safety and quality of care.

All research conducted by W21C is focused on improving patient safety and quality of care, in order to make care better for patients, their families, and for health care providers.

Using Augmented Reality (AR) to teach the next generation of physicians, decreasing the spread of infection in hospitals with new technologies or systems, and improving the design of new hospitals to enhance patient care – these are just a sample of the health care solutions coming through W21C. Explore the projects below to find out more about how our research impacts the health system.
