Jacob is a 2017 graduate of McMaster University’s Bachelor of Health Sciences program. His undergraduate thesis focused on HIV prevention among at-risk adult males living in Hamilton, Ontario. Jacob was also involved in research in the Department of Paediatrics, Division of Infection Diseases at McMaster University throughout his 3rd and 4th years. He assisted with several projects focused on improving the treatment of common childhood infections. Outside of school, Jacob was actively engaged in the Hamilton community in promoting the health and wellness of vulnerable populations in the city through several volunteer placements. Beyond his interest in infectious diseases and public health, Jacob also has research and academic interests in bioethics, health promotion, research methodology, and the history of health and medicine. He’s an aspiring physician and hopes that research will always be a part of his career, wherever it may take him. Jacob is an avid outdoorsman, a budding cyclist, and is intent on finding the best taco in the city of Calgary. He’s looking forward to growing personally and professionally while working in the challenging and creative environment of W21C.
