2020 Human Factors in Healthcare Course – Edmonton

$750The W21C Research and Innovation Centre at the University of Calgary, in collaboration with the Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA), is offering an accredited multi-day course that will discuss the role of Human Factors in Healthcare, including: how to conduct evaluations of human error, icons and labels, digital interfaces, equipment procurement, healthcare processes, and physical environments. Participants will have opportunities for the application of Human Factors knowledge and methods through course modules, covering case studies and methodologies in various clinical areas.

Continuing Medical Education Credits:
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the University of Calgary Office of Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 19.5 hours (credits are automatically calculated).
Course Objectives
By the end of this course the attendees will be able to:
- Understand and describe what the applicability of Human Factors in healthcare.
- Recognize when Human Factors considerations or involvement is applicable in the work I do.
- Meaningfully involve end users to enhance quality improvement and patient safety.
