Certificate Course in Patient Safety and Quality Management

Thank you for your interest !

After running for 9 years, the Certificate Course in Patient Safety and Quality Management has been re-vamped and is now part of the Quality and Safety Leadership Specialization of the Cumming School of Medicine’s Graduate Certificate in Precision Health. After completion of the certificate, students can then pursue a graduate diploma, and then a Master of Precision Health.

The Graduate Certificate in Precision Health is cohort-based, part-time, and delivered over a year to accommodate busy working professionals. Students will complete one course per semester.

Course History

Created in 2010 through an ongoing partnership between W21C, Health Quality Council of Alberta, and the University of Calgary’s Office of Continuing Medical Education, the certificate course was designed for health care professionals who wanted to expand their working understanding of concepts in patient safety and quality management and learn from experts in the field.

The course was offered over seven months through a mix of in-person and weekly online sessions. It boasted an impressive faculty including W21C members and experts from across Canada. For more information on past projects, please view the project archives below.
