Certificate Course in Patient Safety and Quality Management

Thank you for your interest !

After running this course for 9 years, our group is planning a complete re-vamp of our patient safety curriculum, starting this summer. Unfortunately, this means we will not be running our Patient Safety Course in 2019-2020.

Although we regret suspension of our program, we hope you understand that designing a new curriculum while delivering the Course is not feasible. We plan to use this website to communicate our progress and announce future offerings. Thank you for your patience as we work on a better and broader Patient Safety education program.

Course History

Created in 2010 through an ongoing partnership between W21C, Health Quality Council of Alberta, and the University of Calgary’s Office of Continuing Medical Education, the certificate course is designed for health care professionals who want to expand their working understanding of concepts in patient safety and quality management and learn from experts in the field.

The course was offered every September with a mix of in-person and weekly online sessions and runs until March. It boasted an impressive faculty including W21C members and experts from across Canada. For more information on past projects, please view the project archives below.
