Alissa is a recent graduate from the University of Calgary, completing a BSc in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise and Health Physiology. Over the last four years, Alissa has worked on a variety of clinical studies in the Emergency Department of the Alberta Children’s Hospital including research in quality improvement, concussions, and gastroenteritis. Alissa also has experience working in dental practices, focusing on the improvement of inter-disciplinary collaboration of the dental team. Her past experiences paired with a background in Kinesiology have fostered a keen interest in public health and policy therefore Alissa is very excited to be a part of the W21C team and pursue her research interests. Outside of work, Alissa enjoys spending her time volunteering at senior’s homes, playing the violin, and being active outdoors.
