Ariet holds a degree in Biology and a degree in Sociology, from the University of Calgary. Before joining fulltime in 2023, Ariet was a W21C Summer Student in 2022. Her research interests are in vulnerable populations and their experiences with various elements of the Canadian healthcare system. She has published in the CMAJ (Canadian Medical Association Journal) with a study exploring the responses of Canadian medical schools to anti-Black racism and looks to continue her involvement in research that addresses the inequities in our healthcare system. Outside of work, Ariet is engaged in volunteering with the Children’s Cottage and the South Sudanese Youth of Canada. In her free time, Ariet enjoys listening to music, doing jigsaw puzzles, exercising, and spending time with friends and family.
