Darlene received her BScN from the University of Alberta. Her past experience includes working as both an RN in the hospital setting and with Home Care in the community setting. She began working with the University of Calgary as a research nurse in 2008 assisting nephrology clinical trials with Dr. Sofia Ahmed.
Darlene joined W21C in 2014 and her current research projects include two clinical trials: a novel sensing study, that is testing a pressure mattress pad in patients at high risk for pressure injury led by Dr. Chester Ho, and the STRIVE study, which is a Phase 2 vaccine clinical trial for surgical patients led by Dr. John Conly.
In 2017, Darlene completed her Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) certification program earning the title of Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP).
