Dr. Park is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Calgary, with cross-appointments in Community Health Sciences and Psychology. His work bridges engineering, health, and behavioral science to design human-centered technologies that improve safety, usability, and well-being—especially for individuals using assistive devices, first responders, and vulnerable populations.
With a background in human factors, AI, and ergonomics, Dr. Park leads a research lab, where he and his team develop computational models of human-AI interaction, real-time workload monitoring tools, and next-generation technology. Prior to joining UCalgary, he held faculty role at Santa Clara University and researcher role at Texas A&M University.
He has led and contributed to several multidisciplinary projects funded by NSERC, CIHR, the Government of Alberta, and NSF, among others. Dr. Park is actively involved in collaborative research, mentorship, and public health innovation as a member of the O’Brien Institute for Public Health and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute.
