Katie holds a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical and Materials Engineering with a specialization in Biomedical Engineering from Queen’s University, along with her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering. During her graduate studies she was also a trainee in the Research and Education in Accessibility, Design, and Innovation (READi) program at Carleton University. Prior to working with W21C, Katie has experience in healthcare innovation as a Medventions Fellow at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto and while working in industry at Tidal Medical. Katie brings with her a passion for healthcare innovation and user-centered design and is excited to help W21C shape the future of healthcare. Outside of W21C Katie can often be found quilting and is a member of the Calgary Modern Quilt Guild.
