Rebecca is an experienced project manager with diverse research experience in academia and pharmaceutical industry.  She completed a PhD in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases from the University of Calgary specializing in bacterial genetics, with additional post-doctoral research experience in host-pathogen interactions at the University of Toronto, and in antimicrobial resistance at the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute in Vancouver.  Rebecca then applied her scientific expertise to support the development of new vaccine products for Sanofi Pasteur in Toronto.  At Sanofi,  Rebecca was a key member of global project teams that brought new products from the discovery stage, through development, and into clinical trials. She then returned back to UCalgary and took on the role of Translational Specialist for the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking, supporting programs in the health innovation portfolio.  Rebecca is passionate about applied and translational research and is engaged in the Calgary innovation ecosystem.  Her passions, interests, and experience brought her to her current role as Program Manager at W21C.
