Surakshya completed her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta and her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Sydney’s Medical School. At W21C, Surakshya has provided administrative and research support to various projects. In the past, she has coordinated the Patient Safety Course, has provided research support to projects within the University of Calgary’s Post Graduate Medical Education and Undergraduate Medical Education teams, has provided support to community-based healthcare research and has helped the University of Calgary’s Internal Medicine Residency Program with their transition to Competence by Design. Surakshya supports Dr. Ambasta with her research in laboratory test optimization, coordinates courses for the AMR One Health Consortium, and supports projects that fall under the Population and Public Health/Indigenous Health with Alberta Health Services. Outside of work, Surakshya enjoys cooking and watching/discussing movies.
