Surakshya graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Sydney. Over the years, Surakshya has provided education and research support to many projects through her various roles at W21C. Through this, she has collaborated in healthcare projects with the University of Calgary’s medical education teams and the AMR One Health Consortium, the Health Quality Council of Alberta, Alberta Health Services, the University of Alberta, and the University of British Columbia. In the past two years, Surakshya managed the RePORT study- a national multicentre study to evaluate the impact of a de-implementation strategy that engages patients and healthcare professionals in reducing laboratory test overuse. Currently, she oversees quality improvement and implementation research projects. Her expertise lies in project management, project implementation, patient engagement, data analysis, and knowledge translation.
Outside of work, Surakshya is an avid movie-watcher and enjoys travelling.
