Utilizing Technology to Drive Health Care Economics

May 1, 2013 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Calgary Healthcare Improvement Network Seminar Series Presents: Utilizing Technology to Drive Health Care Economics

An interactive discussion based off the reprised presentation of one of the keynote speakers from the 2013 W21C Innovation Forum, “Creating a New Common Ground: Apps, Analytics and Visualization for better health and health care in the 21st century.”

How can an iPad, a cell phone and voice recognition software technology all change the way health professionals will provide care? Are we currently using technology to our maximum capacity to drive positive change in our healthcare system? What are the costs when technology fails us and how do we actually move forward from this?

Please join us for our third exciting CHIN Seminar Series done in partnership with W21C with a reprised presentation provided by Dr. Glen Geiger, MD, CMIO from The Ottawa Hospital. Dr. Geiger was a keynote speaker at this year’s W21C Innovation Forum and provided excellent insight into how health care systems and technology need to be better integrated with one another.

A light dinner will be provided starting at 5:30PM with opportunity to mingle and network with various healthcare professionals, students and faculty, with Dr. Geiger’s presentation following at 5:45PM. After the presentation, an interactive discussion will take place with audience members to generate ideas, comments and perspectives in response.

This event is provided on behalf of the Calgary Healthcare Improvement Network in partnership with W21C and is free to attend.
