This project looked at how tablet technologies can be used at the patient bedside to enhance decision-making and communication. Research phases included a snapshot scan of available healthcare applications for various platforms, a literature review, and focus groups with attending physicians, residents, nurses and medical students to gather perceptions around the usefulness and barriers to the use of tablets in healthcare. The project provided a general understanding of the app landscape and perceptions around tablet use in healthcare.
